Bill, just an exercise? It was perfect. I knew Bobby's drum parts and you nailed it!!!! But, you are right, how could anyone know back then you had to already be a star to make 5k plus with a crew and it was only the bar gig circuit. Nobody knows the expenses like you do and had. I tell the newbies you had to be GOOD to work ! The new bands will never know what we had.But that's cool.....
Bill, Saw Phaedra with both singers at Bradley Station in Knoxville in 1974-75. Yrs later I was in a meeting with David Krebs in NYC and he told me he signed Rex right off the street because of his personality. That comment really hit home as I had watched you guys work. I will never forget Pheadra playing the entire first side of " CAPTAIN BEYOND" for the first set of the evening. Played perfectly I might add! Take care!!

I only have the same 8X10 PR shots that you have. Phaedra was a great band....real "road dogs". The Daytona gigs probably were fun for ya'll at that age but what about all the crap gigs and asshole club owners back then? I talk to Lou once in a while....what happened to Greg? I recently had my 1969 Ludwigs redone in white marine pearl.....love 'em. Now looking for some playing opportunities.
I would love to see that video you have of The Insatiable Stalllion Bros. Let's try to set up a time to exchange or something. Give me a buzz....770-656-7673. Peace to you!
I got your message about the gig on Halloween. I am sure you have found someone but I wanted to drop you a line and thank you for the offer but I am working in Augusta that weekend. If yoou have any gigs in the future please give me a buzz on my cel at 770-656-7673. Talk to you soon!
Hey!! I'm working at Ken Stanton Music on Dallas Hwy./ West Cobb location. I'm stackin em deep and sellin em CHEEP!! Tell your friends, call your family and catch the first thing smokin cause I'm not jokin. Great gear at great prices!!!! Mention my name and I'll say hello!
Hey Man, I played at Blind Willies Friday nite with Big Bill Morganfield. Just thought I'd let you know that I got off me bum for a change. Nyuk,,,nyuk
I believe I've played with Mike at another audition for a "Blues" band startup. Went nowhere. He builds real fancy guitars. Sounded great. Nice cat also. Those Nola amps sound great too. Heard them on a Myspace page I believe. Good tone with no BS knobs to fiddle with. Just the straight tone that I really dig.
Well, better get back to practicin my scales! Right, I don't even know what half the notes are!! Dweedle, sprang and flooong. Those are the notes I know. Theys good uns.
I went and played with some cats in Woodstock last Tuesday. Guess I didn't pass the audition cause I never heard back from them. Maybe I need lessons? Maybe it was my xray specs!!! Maybe I really don't care!!
We played our usual Fat Tuesday at Copeland's/cumberland and then
went to Nashville to play the wedding of a fan that hired us. That was
great. I hadn't been to Nashville in a long time. We're playing Darwins
on the 21st and again in May. Mostly I'm working on my studio and not
paying much attention to gigging around town. Although, I'll soon be
trying to set up something once a month for our foundation group
the Georgia Legacy All Stars. But it's not a club band at all. The clubs
pretty much suck as far as crowds and pay. Too Bad. I'm mostly working on recording and the Georgia Legacy Foundation.
Hey Bill! Just droppin in to share a grin, looking forward to playing with you on 2/6 at the Firewater Chophouse, gonna be a great time. And again on 2/8 at the Edgewood Corner Tavern, we will tear em up! Good luck with the new band you are trying to get together...Peace, and TTYL, Laura
