hey, just wanted to let everyone know that doesn't know already that Jon Guthrie passed away this weekend as the result of an automobile accident. Jon was the 26 year old son of Michael Guthrie and was the bass player in the Michael Guthrie Band. he was a fabulous bassist and a good soul. condolences to his family and may he rest in peace.

Comment by michael lee doke on December 15, 2009 at 12:07pm: well, it has been a couple of months now since the untimely passing of Jon Guthrie and his life and musical contributions are being honored this saturday dec. 19th at the Jon Gruthie "livin the dream" show at the 40 watt club in athens, ga. the show starts at 6pm and runs until about 2am with many, many , different bands playing short (20 minute) sets. this will be a huge event and i hope that you all can make it down to athens for a nite of great music and comradery
