"Birth" by Voices From The Shelter now on my page

I hope this finds you all well. I'm very excited about my new project "Voices From The Shelter." It is a collaboration between my musical brother Jacob Lawson and myself recorded organically at the Bomb Shelter studio in Woodstock, GA. All of the drumming is done in one take and it's truly a musical spiritual journey for me. We hope to press vinyl of our material once everything is mixed and are looking to collaborate with other artists. Our new track "Birth" can now be heard here on my page and… Continue

The last Dixie Jam is tomorrow night. For awhile.........

Hey gang, Unfortunately Dixie Tavern has decided to postpone the jam for the rest of the month. We hope to have it one week a month starting in October. We'll let you all know. I want to personally thank all of the musicians that have come out on Wed's the past few months to play with us and the folks at Dixie Tavern for supporting us along with all of our other sponsors. So, with this being the last dance for a little while, let's blow it out. Come one, come all, lets jam!!! ~ka Continue

A must read for all musicians! Great book!

I've always subscribed to the music philosophy of approaching music as a language and not so much of a learned trade. After reading "The Music Lesson- a spiritual search for growth through music" by Victor Wooten, not only does every… Continue

My fellow musicians! Want more gigs? Here's one of the secrets!!

I passed out cards, played with everyone I could, worked my ass off, and the next thing ya know, the sub calls started coming. I kept a humble attitude and now I'm lucky to say that I pla… Continue
