I don't even have to spell out the name of the business whose brand is 36 flavors. This company has a flavor for every taste. When we started out in the music business we had only one flavor of music. It was jazz. But when rap and hip hop sell the most CD's, with country a close second, it became necessary to add another flavor. So we added in the exact opposite of jazz - neoclassical piano. Over the many years that we've been producing and selling CD's, we managed to expand our music offerings… Continue

SOUL-PATROL.com PRESS RELEASE :
"As you all know, in my humble opinion, Billy Jones is one of the most compelling
artists around on today's Black Blues music scene.
For his latest album, he has put together a collection of his best songs
on a single album called "The Billy Jones Story." This is something that
I wish more artists should do with some of the outstanding music they
have released and I am glad to see that Billy has taken that step. Look
for 5 or 6 of these songs to make a… Continue

Did you hear about this story. An exotic dancer in Akron, Ohio, gets probation after she stabs her co-worker in the face with a stiletto heel. That’s bad enough, but here’s the kicker. The co-worker was 52 years old and this was her first day on the job. Seems the dancer wielding the shoe didn’t think the owner needed to hire any more dancers. Just how bad is the economy when a 52 year old has to take a job as an exotic dancer? Continue

For Halloween I'm planning on going as the tattered economy. I'm working on
my costume right now, something a little tattered and raggedy, maybe with a
pit bull chasing me down the street. Of course there won't be any treats,
because they will already have been dispensed to Bank of America, IAG, and
the other greedy fat cats. Continue

So Spike Lee has once again opened his mouth and shoved his good sense in. Should we countenance his statements about "coonery and bufoonery as regards Perry's movies?"
Here's the deal, we get the movies that we want. How? Well, when Tyler Perry's first Ma'dear movie came out, if it were not such a hit and if thousands had not voted for it, with their attendance at the theatres, how many more Ma'dear movies do you think Tyler would have produced.
Here's another thing. In times of crisis, econom… Continue

I just wanted to take a moment out of a busy day to remember those who had fallen on this day 8 years ago, our fellow Americans and musicians, fathers and mothers brothers and sisters who did nothing but go to work or wake up. Let's not forget that we came under attack wheather or not who you think is responsible makes not difference today....Let's honor our fallen and those who are still fighting this war on terror and let's spread the love. James Douglas "Jimmy" Lyon was born on May 22, 1955, in Tampa, Fla. The youngest of three children, Jimmy moved from Tampa to Virginia at age 2. In 1963, the family moved to the East Bay area near San Francisco, where Jimmy would begin his musical career.
He witnessed The Beatles first performance on the Ed Sullivan Show, which inspired a generation. Jimmy's first instrument of choice was the drums, but being an apartment dweller, an acoustic guitar made more practical sense. Jimmy played guita… Continue

I kept an old cassette of myself playing with the Out of hand band in Keywest circa '89. It has Randy Lewis, Bobby Gaines, Elmo Whooton, myself and Tom Grose on it. We were playing Sloppy Joes at the beginning of what turned into a four year house gig for me. This is us after about a month together. Bear in mind it's from a cassette running through a very old and crusty Peavey board with "30 fans blowing at us from above the stage.

If you don't have your own website to promote yourself or your product yet, you can get one for almost no money. I used to burn CD's, print fancy promo sheets, pay for photos to give a slick promo pack to club owners, only to have them never look or listen. So I put it all on the internet. People will go to a site and click before they'll read or stick a CD in the player. Plus, your fans can always find where you're playing. Guess it's a sign of the times...
If you're the DYI type, and know how… Continue
