About Me
The quote" Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming.... WOW!!!! What A RIDE!!!!!
A former high school band director, turned Aeronaut "balloonist", Sax Player who bought a Soprano Sax several years ago and decide to learn to play the blues. Had the great fortune to meet Theodis Ealey and used some of his cds to develop my changes... I had the fortunate opportunity to join him on stage at Darwin's in Atlanta. What a trip that was.. "Thanks for the opportunity Theodis." After performing at blues jams around Atlanta and as a regular on Sunday at Blues in the Alley, I had an opportunity to get OJT.. On The Job Training with the like of "Mr Tommy Brown" and a cadry of other well know musicians.
In 2002 I met Carolyn a kindred spirit and the Lady of my dreams and we moved just up the road to Lavonia, Georgia. exit 173 on I-85.
We purchased a 6400 square foot 70 year old wood 'post and beam' cotton warehouse on a railroad siding here in downtown Lavonia, and renovated it for our balloon business with the idea that one day we would be able to open a music and entertainment venue. Over the past several years we have hosted private parties and most recently produced a theatrical drama call "Love Letters" in conjunction with Franklin Community Players.
We are continuing to renovate the front area for an art gallery and food venue.
We are looking for musicians who would like to bring blues and old time rock and roll to "On The Rail", in a listening room environment.
It would be great to host an open jam once a month for musician in Atlanta and Northeast Georgia.
Call me if you are interested in a performing here. Robert "Professor Blues" Willbanks 678 777 5438
