About Me
BIOGRAPHY
A native Tennessean from Murfreesboro, Rebecca Windham graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, touring with the Rhodes College Singers throughout the Southeastern U.S. and the United Kingdom. Additional performance credits include opening for Mel Torme at the Johnny Mercer Festival in Savannah, GA, the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) Conference, St. Simons Island Jazz-in-the-Park Series, local Atlanta venues such as Sambuca Jazz Cafe and Eddie's Attic, and many others too numerous to list here. She has enjoyed featured artist performing stints in Japan, England, and France; with pianist Mac Frampton and the Hollywood Hills Orchestra; and in concert venues throughout the U.S. Rebecca's voice can be heard on countless artist albums and commercial jingles, among them the Cartoon Network, MCI, Haverty's Furniture, A.C. White Movers, and other Atlanta corporations.

In 2001, this award-winning singer/songwriter released her debut album of original music "To A Warmer Heart", which she produced and on which she plays piano and sings. Rebecca is a founding member, vocal director, and arranger for the touring vocal jazz quartet, South City Voices, which has performed with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra as well as at local concert venues such as Libby's Cabaret. Often compared to the Manhattan Transfer, this group released the critically acclaimed CD, "Got Swing" in the fall of 2003.

An avid educator as well as performer, Rebecca combines a Master's Degree in Music with over 15 years of performance, recording, and teaching experience. She is proud of her private music students, many of whom have won scholarships, excelled in competitions and festivals, produced their own albums, advanced to perform professionally, and received local and national awards, including recognition in Billboard magazine and Time Warner New Artist of the Year Award. In addition, she finds time to squeeze in teaching at the Art Institute of Atlanta in the audio production department, which she thoroughly enjoys.

MURFREESBORO! As I live and breathe. My Mother's family is from Bell Buckle.

If you should want to sing and have someone else on piano/organ, let's check each other out. My stuff has been getting constantly jazzier and I want to play jazz clubs around here.

best wishes

Hey there "Becky"!

It's been a long time (as it seems the running narrative for so many here), and it looks like things are going very well with you..... which is definitely a good thing!

What's our old buddy, "Donny Sands" up to lately?
