I've been using a Digitech Vocalist Live 4 for about a month. Most of the time, it's 'dead on.' I do 'Seven Bridges Road' and it turns heads every time! If you're doing the 'solo thing,' I'd recommend giving this baby a try.

I got used to inserting everything a long time ago, it's not that bad. I haven't used recorded vocal tracks yet, but I plan to. I should have been doing that a long time ago. Problem is, I have NO falsetto. I use a Digitech VR. It's fine, but at t...

Wow, Domingo, you INSERT every keyboard note? That must take FOREVER !!! How do like using the harmonizer? I usually just overdub any needed BGV's into my sequenced mix.

I've been sequencing since '86. All the bands that I worked with since then played with tracks. W had a live drummer, guitarist(myself), a keyboardist who doubled on bass and three girls out front. We ALWAYS played with tracks until the group brok...

I have a small floor mounted LED array that I use to wash the V-drums on-stage. I also use a rope light that I have threaded through the drum rack to give a splash of blue color, as well. I paid about $100 for the LED light fixture about 2 years a...

Flexible in size, The Society Express Band consists of a core group of 5 band members who all sing and/or play more than one instrument. You’ll enjoy sax, stand up & electric bass, keys, guitar, keys, trumpet, trombone, drums and you’ll be thrilled with the variety & lush harmonies of their male and female vocals! With a staff of over 15 musicians, they can easily add additional players to create the exact sound you are looking for or they can play as a smaller 4 piece group, trio or duo. The Big Five-O

Well folks, it feels like I’m living my life in a strange parallel universe as I will turn 50, on Nov 4th. Every day I hear the news relentlessly chanting the countdown on every station (for the election, mind you) but the excitement is about to kill me (ha!)

Looking back on the past 50 years, it’s been one helluva ride. I started playing piano at 3 yrs old and my father was a fabulous jazz pianist who took a lot of time playing musical games with me every night after dinner and making the pian… Continue

A happy ending and a new beginning...

I got the chance to put the new connections I've made off of this site to work last Saturday night. Somehow I overlooked the fact that I had an extra spot on the band stand and so at the last minute, I invited Jeffrey "Jefwah" Vaughn (percussionist) to join my band in Athens and it made for a marvelous evening. Of course the amazing blues skies, nice cool temps, fresh air (and hand picked strawberries) were intoxicating on their own :-)

I always seem to have such good luck when bringing new fol… Continue

Treacherous road trip.....Be Safe!

Boy, I'm wiped out today. I took my band to Birmingham last night and we had a great gig but the trip back was horrendous. It was raining monsoons and the highway was an incredibly dark and bumpy road with massive construction for miles and miles. I drive an E-250 cargo van, and I can tell you it was harrowing driving down a one lane highway with two concrete retaining walls inches away from each side of me. Yeeeooow! My eyes were bugging out of my head and wiggling and I still had two hours to… Continue

Pondering the space between the notes....

Ahhh, nice weather we're having here..don't you agree? My husband & I took a cruise down to Sandy Springs in our convertible tonight and we fell into a place called KC BBQ. I couldn't believe it, there was a live band at 6:00pm on a Thursday. I had the unexpected pleasure of getting to hear Cooper Tisdale and his trio (the BBQ was quite good I might add). He had a great sound, a lot of jazzy, rockish instrumentals...some retro Jimmy Hendrix tossed in with a little laid back R&B. What I n… Continue

GPS is my new best friend....

I'm sure many of you are as amazed as I am at how your GPS is cutting your gig travel time down. Tonight I routed mine to avoid 75 AND Cobb Parkway on Friday at 5:45pm and it took me on a lovely traffic-free trip through cute little white picket fenced neighborhoods and I made it home in 20 minutes instead of 45.

Now I tell you, my first experience was harrowing. I was trying to get up to a wedding venue in Dahlonega and my husband was barking orders, "turn here, turn here...TURN HERE #$… Continue

Hi Jeni, I played at Chicago's last night and saw your name on the Marquis. Are you still playing with The Society express Band? I am not playing at Roy's anymore. I am looking to book some solo and band gig's around town. If you know any cool places that need some Ent. let me know.

Hi Jeni-
If you email me we can figure out what we can do!! Glenn and I have been playing together on and off for about 30 years now. We've done Everything from Chick Corea to Eddie Rabbitt! We are currently doing Trad Jazz in our FlyCats' project (our bio's are on the site, www.theflycats.com along with tons of audio). He's a sight reader and I'm a chartist! He sings lead, I sing BU. We're pretty booked in April and some in May. Wide open after that for now. Please email me @ zibman@bellsouth.net so we can "talk"!!! :-)

Hi Jen-
Same here. Gigs are tough. We have tons of things in the fire. All our haunts are trying to wait out the economy. I can bring my guitar player if you need one (Glenn Tocci). Check out the FlyCats' site for audio, etc.
All the best!
