Jeni Michelson, Vocal/Keys/Band Leader said… - It's so weird you would say that because I'm feeling the same way. I don't know how to price anything either. I get a terrible feeling that everyone is dropping their drawers. I also think a lot of people who lost their jobs are flooding the market with their second career options, playing gigs etc.
I've been rolling along like a fine tuned machine for about 20 years strong, and out of the blue...I can't get people to return emails, phone calls. It's maddening. I just got back from New Orleans and found out that the musicians are playing for the door. In LA they are paying to play in many rooms. It's getting harder to be a musician. Do you teach?
Seems like many are surviving quite well doing that.

- Wow that's something else. Where are you playing? What is Christi doing? You know it was like someone pulled a plug except it happened to me on about August 15. No phone calls, nothing, zip, nada. Scary as shit. It hasn't gotten much better either. I'm scrambling trying to put together enough work to pay bills and it's really a rude awakening. Last year I had my very best year with 290+ gigs, this year...is definitely my worst on record.
