Dr. Michael Stechison Trio will be moving across Piedmont Park from our gig last weekend at the Green Market to the Red Light Cafe at 553 Amsterdam Ave tomorrow night at 830 - 10 pm.

- About Me
- I am a classically-trained pianist. I play jazz keyboards and do vocals. I play either as a solo act or with my trio. My playlist includes a wide variety of jazz standards as well as pop, originals and some latin. I enjoy the mental challenge of creative improvisation not only with both hands on the piano, but adding in the third task of singing at the same time. I love to play acoustic piano, but in venues with no piano I use my Roland RD600, Roland SH-210 and my Hammond XK3C.
My CD "by myself, now and then" is available through the iTunes music store, as well as www.cdbaby.com or my website. Stories on my music have been featured in the Atlanta Journal Constitution Living Section (Aug 18, 2008), the Piedmont Review, and Jazziz magazine as well as other publications. I am currently working on my next CD featuring original compositions.
I am typically available for gigs in Atlanta and the surrounding region, and Florida.
My other commitment as the Neurosurgical Director of the Brain and Spine Institute at Gwinnett Medical Center sometimes limits my last-minute availability. I am passionate about music and looking for ways to network with other musicians and expand my performance options by finding more people to play with.
