About Me
Cole/Taylor is Bryan Cole and Marvin Taylor. Bryan was the drummer in Mose Jones when I (Marvin) joined that band in 1973, and we have played together ever since. Our other bands include Out A Hand and Java Monkey, The Lucky Ones, and now Cole/Taylor.

Bryan was one of the top producers for Ichiban Records for many years and produced hundreds of CDs - Blues, Jazz, Soul, Gospel, Country, Bluegrass, you name it - even won gold and platinum records for Rap projects. One of the artists Bryan produced for Ichiban was Francine Reed, and our band Java Monkey not only played on all her cds but toured extensively for many years as her band in the U.S, Canada, Europe and Australia.

Bryan and I decided to become production partners last year. Our first joint production project was a Christmas CD by Country artist Mark Scott. One of the songs from that CD, Saints and Angels, written by Victoria Banks, was chosen Georgia Country Music Song Of The Year. While there are other projects being considered, we decided to first produce a project on ourselves!

Neither Bryan nor I has ever considered ourselves "lead singers", but we know what we want to say with the songs we write, so we gave it a shot. We both agree that we have never had more fun with anything we ever did!

We recorded everything here at my studio, Five Feathers Music, with the exception of keyboard overdubs done by our friend and soon to be band mate Bill Kahler, who recorded those at his own studio.

Our friend and co-writer on one of the tunes, Diane Durrett, lent her fabulous breathy voice on several tracks, as did our sister Francine Reed, along with Bill Kahler and Jeff Hilyer. Chuck Bithorn, "the Freakin' Rican" plays percussion on the title song.

One of the songs on the project is called When I Was The One, and was written by my wife Raven and me. The track on the CD is actually the demo for the song, and features vocals by the late Michael Jones. Michael was a dear friend for years, and as far as we know, this was the last thing he recorded before his untimely death. We decided to include it on the CD exactly as it was when he left the studio that day. Michael was one of a kind and we sure do miss him, but his singing lives on!

We have included all ten songs on this site. We hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed creating them!
