I've been using a Digitech Vocalist Live 4 for about a month. Most of the time, it's 'dead on.'

I do 'Seven Bridges Road' and it turns heads every time!

If you're doing the 'solo thing,' I'd recommend giving this baby a try.

I got used to inserting everything a long time ago, it's not that bad. I haven't used recorded vocal tracks yet, but I plan to. I should have been doing that a long time ago. Problem is, I have NO falsetto. I use a Digitech VR. It's fine, but at times the vocals sound like a vocoder. I don't care for that.

Wow, Domingo, you INSERT every keyboard note? That must take FOREVER !!! How do like using the harmonizer? I usually just overdub any needed BGV's into my sequenced mix.

I've been sequencing since '86. All the bands that I worked with since then played with tracks. W had a live drummer, guitarist(myself), a keyboardist who doubled on bass and three girls out front. We ALWAYS played with tracks until the group broke up in '96. I then played with another group that recorded their tracks on minidisc. I started solo work in '05, still sequencing all of my stuff and using a harmonizer for background vocals. Although I love playing with live musicians, I think I've become more comfortable playing with tracks. I know what's going to happen and there are NO surprises. I think the toughest part is not being a keyboardist. I have ALWAYS inserted every note I've sequenced. No, not step mode, insert. I don't have a keyboard setup at my workstation. I really enjoy sequencing. I've had a lot of compliments from keyboard players along the way. Things started to pick up for me in CA, then I moved to the ATL area and solo work came to a screeching halt.

I recently began working alone with back up tracks after playing with bands for 45 years. I love it. Just need a few more gigs.

Just a quick note to say, 'hi.' I'm the 'new kid.' Please be kind.

So I was talkin to my bass player...oh yea, that's me. Man I hate it on those nights when your right hand doesn't know what your left hand is doing.
Long time no talk to, Jeni - Hope you're doing well these days!
