Looks like we have some new members;) Welcome aboard buddies. the guy I rent from, Paul Reid, recently went to work at Firehouse Music in Conyers and Decatur. I hope you don't mind me pitching it. They'll meet is not beet any price. Eric murphy owns it and he's a great dude, player and a good friend. http://guitarsatlanta.com/

Hey Scott,
most likely it is from moisture (sweat) and can be buffed out. Most PRS's have a poly finish but some have a lacquer finish. That needs to be determined before you proceed. Different buffing agents for different finishes....let me know if I can be of help.

well... some of the best still do that. I think you do still need to cross reference. My problem is I don't listen to my music thru my studio monitors enough. Personally I need a sub on the system I'm mixing on too. That's the area most misinterpreted for me. Bu honestly why not mix on something you listen to the most...

STUDIO MONITORS - Why do we buy special and oftern expensive studio monitors? Shouldnt we all be mixing on the speakers we (and others) would most often listen to our other commercially recorded music on? I know that no matter how many times I tweek on the studio mons, I end up burning a CD, listening to it in (nice Bose) car system, and going back and tweeking again to get it to sound like my other CDs sound in the car? Is this logical? ??

i have a JBL powered speaker. Don't remember the number. But the horn needs a diaphragm.

Ken Matthews, who plays with us in the Rhythm Method and is by his own account "the only white guy to ever record an album with Stax Records" called me today to ask where to find a powered 15"PA speaker w/ horn. I had one in stock, a Behringer B300. He called one of his "consultants" in Atlanata to get an opinion on a comparable Mackie product. The consultant said the Mackie's tend to quit on you. We traded even for Ken's Peavey Special 112 amp. This thing has 160 watts RMS and a big old scorpion speaker. LOUD. Could be louder than my 5150!(Don't tell Ken I bought the B300 for $125 out the door). I saw a PS112 for around $200 and going up on Ebay. They are hard to find. Keep the ones you have!

Well it was a Groove Tube that wouldn't work in mine. there may be something wrong with it.

I put a Groove Tubes GT-12AX7-C in my Voodoo and it sounded 30% better that soviet version installed when I got it on Ebay.

I agree, but my voodoo is sitting idle now. It needs a new tube. I put a new one in it, and it's wrong or somehow. The preamp shuts down after a few minutes. But i have an old marshall 12AX7 in there and it works fine, but the tube sounds old.

Based on what I have listened to, I would probably need (2) - the Voodoo LIVE and the Prophesy for recording only. Voodoo is MUCH hotter and "in your face", Prophesy just blends into the recording mix really well.
