I remember this album being one of my first favorite jazz albums even before I learned to love Billie Holiday!

I love the album that is on top next to the group title. Growing up in New York City, I spent many, many hours, sitting in clubs where Monk was performing. He was my favorite pianist then, and still is. I got to work with one of his long time group drummers, Frankie Dunlap, up in the Catskills, which was a thrill for me...
