We probably could use a forum header for this topic. I'm sure with all the wonderful unity being created here on this site, we could do some powerful things for our fellow musicians (and people in general) who are in need.

This was an interesting MYSPACE post of a young lady who is holding a contest with big prize money in the name of her charity.

I'm semi-retired, so am interested in any charitable or fundraising events, though I don't have the time to propertlyy devote to running a forum. I used to do some performances in nursing homes, and would love to do that again.

It's not hard to connect with her and she returns correspondence quickly. I've been a little disappointed with the lack of involvement in general from the members on this site....maybe it just involves some more whip cracking..or perhaps a "cause". I think if we had a quarterly networking event it might support the site and help solidify some of the relationships being formed here. I'm going to talk to the moderator about it and we have a space where we could do it. Maybe a "Ham, Eggs & Jam/brunch", everyone bring a dish...something like that?

When creative minds get together, anything can happen. Networking is definitely where it's at.
It would be nice to start a fund-raising effort to help musicians with health problems...that would be a good place to start I reckon :-) I do a lot of work with retirement homes. I work for about 50 of them regularly....that's my cause :-); ▶ Reply to This
